The Revolutionary CT Scan

Annual physical examinations have been advised by many physicians in both Japan and the U.S.A. as essential in maintaining good health. Although there are specific guidelines for screening against special diseases, there is lack of consensus on exactly how much routine physical examinations can add to anyone's health or well-being.

There is a revolutionary test that is now available at an affordable cost. It is a CT (computerized tomography) scan that is rapid enough to capture the motion of the internal organs such as the heart, and accurate and precise enough to see down to 2 or 3 millimeters anywhere in the body. Used as a screening test, it can visualize all structures from the neck down to the pelvis (thyroid to prostate), including heart, lungs, GI tract, GU tract, and gynecological organs. No preparations or injections are necessary. A sophisticated software system coupled with the ultra rapid scanner enables us to represent the image in a three dimensional moving image. This allows quantification of abnormalities throughout the body in a three dimensional representation.

We at NIPPON MEDICAL CLINIC, in conjunction with HEALTH VIEW CENTER FOR PREVENTIVE MEDICINE of Newport Beach, can now offer this study interpreted by a radiologist and one of our physicians in Japanese. In our opinion, this single ten minute test without preparation or injection can supervene most, if not all, of the screening tests that are currently used, such as endoscopy, cholesterol levels, stress test, mammograms, prostate tests.
